3D and panoramic imaging for practices without on site equipment. CBCT from £80, OPG £60. Images provided to you, patients returned to your care.
Croft Dental at 64 Manchester Road in Wilmslow provides CBCT and OPG imaging on referral for practices without on site equipment. CBCT single arch is £80, dual arch £170, and OPG £60. Images are provided to the referring practice and patients are returned to their care. Referred patients are not registered, are not seen for anything beyond the requested imaging, and are not contacted about other treatments. The practice also accepts referrals for implant treatment and complex endodontics where a practice wishes to refer the case on.
The patient stays yours
Send us a patient for a scan and that is exactly what happens. They come in, we take the imaging, they go home.
- We take the imaging you requested and nothing else:
No opportunistic look at anything else, no comment on the state of their teeth, no conversation about what we noticed. - We do not examine, assess or treat unless you ask us to:
Want an assessment alongside the imaging? Say so on the referral. If you have not asked, we will not, and we will not suggest it to your patient either. - We do not register referred patients:
Nobody at reception will ask whether they would like to join. No registration paperwork appears in front of them. They stay yours. - We do not market to them:
No mailing lists, no newsletters, no follow up about implants or whitening or anything else. Their details are used for your referral and nothing beyond it. - Anything we notice outside the referral goes in your report, not to your patient:
Occasionally a scan shows something unexpected. That is your patient and your call, so you hear about it rather than they do. - Images come to you in a format you can work with:
Not a printout. Not a link that expires next week. Files you can open, store and plan from.
And if you are wondering what is in it for us: the practice runs on implant and endodontic referrals from dentists like you. Poaching a patient who came in for a scan would cost us considerably more than it would gain us.
CBCT, cone beam computed tomography
Three dimensional imaging showing bone volume, bone density, nerve position, sinus anatomy and root morphology in detail a conventional radiograph cannot provide.

- Implant planning, including bone volume and proximity to the inferior alveolar nerve or maxillary sinus
- Assessment of impacted teeth, particularly third molars and canines
- Endodontic assessment, including suspected root fractures, missed canals and periapical pathology not visible on periapical radiographs
- Assessment of pathology
- Trauma assessment
- Orthodontic assessment where three dimensional information is required

Making a referral
- Step one, send the referral:
Complete the form on this page, or email dentist@croftdental.co.uk with the patient details and what you need imaged. - Step two, justification:
Every exposure requires clinical justification under IR(ME)R 2017. Your referral needs to include sufficient clinical information for the exposure to be justified before it is taken.
- Step three, appointment:
We contact the patient directly to arrange the scan, usually within two working days. The appointment itself takes a few minutes. - Step four, images to you:
Images are provided to your practice.
- Step five, patient returns to you:
Nothing further happens at our end unless you have asked for it.
